The role of a Group Account Director is to lead and maintain the relationship with their client(s) and guide the account team, providing overall direction and long-term growth opportunities. The GAD will have a birds-eye view on their accounts and will create conditions where others thrive and produce the best possible work.
The Group Account Director will help shape and work closely with their team to ensure clarity on the division of responsibilities and a ‘right person, right role’ skills based approach. It’s the GAD’s responsibility to set the tone and mood of the team and to manage the structure and day to day running of the account, efficiently engaging the different agency functions when appropriate. They’ll be an expert in their clients’ brand and business, understanding their business challenges and how they can be overcome through creative marketing ideas. The GAD must also be commercially minded, recognizing opportunities for ongoing profitability.
The Group Account Director consistently thinks three steps ahead, driving excellent client service and a culture of rock-solid delivery with the team. Their mindset is to go above and beyond client expectations and consistently lead the team by example.
