Group Account Director - Tampa

The role of a Group Account Director is to lead and maintain the relationship with their client(s) and guide the account team, providing overall direction and long-term growth opportunities. The GAD will have a birds-eye view on their accounts and will create conditions where others thrive and produce the best possible work.

The Group Account Director will help shape and work closely with their team to ensure clarity on the division of responsibilities and a ‘right person, right role’ skills based approach. It’s the GAD’s responsibility to set the tone and mood of the team and to manage the structure and day to day running of the account, efficiently engaging the different agency functions when appropriate. They’ll be an expert in their clients’ brand and business, understanding their business challenges and how they can be overcome through creative marketing ideas. The GAD must also be commercially minded, recognizing opportunities for ongoing profitability.

  • Ensure that the highest quality of work is produced profitably, within available budget

  • Effectively lead multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously; trouble shoot and mitigate risks, as well as ensure effective communication around the plans
  • Schedule, organize and facilitate client campaign initiatives across all agency channels; hold regular internal meetings to effectively guide client conversation to ensure clarity and productivity

  • Must obtain an in depth understanding of PPK, our history, our beliefs and our direction – confident with presenting agency credentials and case studies to clients, prospects and third parties

Qualifications

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in a full-service agency
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising or public relations
  • Experience in relationship management or account management with close involvement in delivery of work and growing service offerings within an account
  • Proven track record of client and team success
  • In-depth knowledge of digital marketing, social media, mobile and SEM
  • Understanding of traditional marketing programs such as TV, print, radio, and OOH
  • Experience in procuring primary research and leveraging insight in brand strategy
  • Thorough understanding of creative development and production process for both traditional and digital media-based programs
  • Experience valuating agency services and ability to manage team and project budgets to ensure agency profitability
  • Experience in composing and delivering written project and scope proposals
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong presentation/public speaking skills
  • Strong analytical abilities and the ability to carefully manage details
  • Ability to focus and work under pressure during tight deadlines with humor, tact and professionalism
  • Must be computer literate with proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and G-Suite with the ability to learn new computer systems
  • Required to pass a drug test
